Fitting a set of sun shades to the rear windows of your vehicle provides a number of benefits. The first and most obvious is the fact that they help to reduce the amount of sunlight that gets into the rear of the vehicle. By reducing the level of sunlight the sun shades have a temperature controlling effect within the vehicle. The reduction in sunlight getting into the car on those bright, hot days, helps to keep the heat levels within the car lower than they would be if the sun shades were not fitted. I am sure we have all come back to a car that has been stood in bright sunlight for a period of time. You open the doors to be greeted by a blast of hot air. You have to stand there for a few minutes to allow the temperature to drop as cooler air replaces that that has built up inside the car. In addition to reducing the build-up of heat the sun shades also help protect the rear upholstery of the vehicle from fading that can occur through exposure to strong direct sunlight.
Vertical wind rods - These are steel rods that travel from the bottom of the curtain to the top of the curtain. They dissipate the force of the wind from the grommets and stitching to the entire length of the heavy duty outdoor curtains. Wind screen pockets - These are pockets which are installed in the curtain that allow some of the wind to pass through. This feature further reduces the force of the wind on the curtain. Floor straps - Floor straps should be used in conjunction with the vertical wind rods to provide even more protection from the blowing wind. The floor straps attach to the bottom of the curtain and then anchor to the floor.
Magazines about design and fashion often show the latest styles, shapes, and colors for both curtains and curtain rods and can be a source of inspiration and suggestions for those that are decoration challenged. While useful, it's important to remember that curtains should show a sense of YOUR style and that any colors or patterns might look great in the room that they're in, but they have to match the overall design scheme you've already created in the planned room.
